Last year I got to recreate this on a smaller scale when my dog and I were out for a walk and saw some deer in a field (I have NEVER seen deer around there so this could have been a beautiful surprise). We look at the deer, then at each other, I said "please, don't", and he took off towards them. The way the dog reacts to it. It's straight out of a blockbuster film. Can it be? No... no... it is.   I actually misspoke. It was ~33 years to reach the  Pluto 1930-2006 Never Forget Shirt  heliopause. And that was using a path designed to maximize the number of objects visited, not for speed. Something like 3 to 4 times the total distance. Just because the solar wind is no longer flowing outward doesn't mean that an object can't be gravitationally bound beyond that point. The voyager missions also had different objectives. They were sightseeing on their way out. If we really wanted something to move out into the Oort cloud asap, it wouldn't be taking a tour of several planets before leaving.
