My daughter's trans, and LGBT 2020 I LickedI It So It Was Quarantined Shirt while we never get comments about stuff she likes (she's been really femme ever since she was a toddler. Then, we used to get comments about how I shouldn't let "him" play with that, watch that, wear that, etc.) but when she was first out, some of my friends (ok, some of my Army buddies, let's be honest) would say the dumbest stuff. They'd be like, "Well, you're not gonna let her use the girls' bathroom at school, are you?" or "You're not gonna let her get hormones, are you?" The worst part is that one of these guys called me and told me that one of his kids came out as non-binary, and I was like, "Oh, hey, cool! Welcome to the club!" and he was like, "Look, I support her and all, but there's no way I'm allowing this. How did you stop [daughter] from transitioning? I didn't, because I'm not a terrible parent, but thank you. My sister came out a little while ago, and a buddy I game with mentioned that she couldn't be trans because she still plays a lot of video games. I had to mention that I also play a lot of video games, and I'm a cis woman. Why am I allowed to do things considered 'boyish' but my sister isn't it? One of my closest friends, (and ex-crush, but nothing happened because she’s straight) said “I don’t mind gay ppl, but it’s a sin that they choose to be that way”
