 We lived with a friend of my  LGBT 100 Love  Equality Loud Proud Together Me Shirt mom for a bit and she always insinuated that the high school GSA meetings I went to were orgies. Having attended both high school GSAs and (far older than high school) orgies, my god would a high school GSA orgy just result in the most awkward, mentally scarring time ever. That's just... a bad idea. I mean besides the obvious reasons it's a bad idea. This definitely could be worse, but it's still incredibly annoying. When someone says "I think it's fine that shows have gay characters, but I hate it when they have it for no reason." Ah yes, because we all know that the universe made me a lesbian simply for character development. I've had this conversation with a lot of people, and then I challenge them about all the instances where straight people are being sexual or romantic towards one another (As oftentimes, gay characters have a love-heavy plot, often with disastrous results), and they usually reply back with some form of "That's just normal!" I started dating a woman, "Mary," and my parents have always been fine with my sexuality. Mary's father was great. Her mother locked herself in her bedroom for a week. But still, the mother was outwardly kind to me (and I believe it was genuine). Until one day the phone rings and it's the mother. Among other things I don't remember, she said, in the sweetest voice, "I love you both dearly but you know, you're going to hell!"

The poor kiddo struggled big-time with mental health and behaviors and his self-esteem. I lost a lot of sleep about this child and his well-being long before COVID.
