I could imagine something similar style to Bakemonogatari even that still difficult to pull off. Also, the story is short, and they need to expand it. I'm a bit worried because the Killing Joke story got expanded & it wasn't good. If the cost of animation is what’s keeping them making these things, I’ll take what I can get. There have been some terrible ones, but there have also been some pretty great ones too, but that’s only if you look at it like a kid-style animation show or movie. They’re never gonna be as good as the source material. That said, I kinda feel like they’re going to Killing Joke this one. Hopefully they DK Returns it. They need to get the Batman TAS cast together for this. They are the voices I read into The along Halloween— Conroy, Hamill, and have Bryan Cranston who played Gordon in Year One come back since this book/the depiction of Jim is largely inspired by it. They keep adapting these incredible stories with low budgets that can't support them. The animation is stiff and poorly done, and at times, it's embarrassing to watch. Spider-Verse has shown that they could absolutely make theatrical animated Batman movies. The time is right.
