That's all we adult-folks want for Halloween anyway. Enough with the Disney Princess costumes. It's time Halloween returned to its roots and trick-or-treaters showed up at my door and gave me nightmares for weeks. Technology and availability of materials and resources also make costumes-making much easier to do. Some people create movie grade costume replicas just because there are so many resources on the internet showing people how to do things in a relatively easy and accessible way. I've made some (almost) replica like costumes and props just from watching a few YouTube videos and reading a few articles. Well, I think the issue is twofold: Halloween became corporatized, and kids nowadays want to dress up as characters from pop-culture; the latter is what directly influenced the former. I mean today you have 3D printing mechanized Iron Man helmets and Warhammer Space Marine suits, but those are custom builds with practically a Hollywood budget; if little Johnny wants to dress up as Spiderman just buy him the cheap-ass morph suit and plastic mask on a string.
