Snoopy Read Book I’m Not Anti-Social I’m Anti -Stupid Shirt

I used to force myself to   Snoopy Read Book I’m Not Anti-Social I’m Anti -Stupid Shirt finish every book I started, even if I couldn't stand it. Eventually, I realized that this wasn't school, I didn't have to read anything I didn't want to read. So now if I really just can't get into a book, I abandon it and start another. I do give everyone a good try, since obviously not every book is going to grab you right away. But if I've been plodding through it for a few days and I'm just not eager to read when I have a spare minute, that's a good indication that I should give it up and move on to one of the dozen or so other books I always have on my nightstand waiting to be read. I still feel kind of guilty about it though, but then I feel guilty about most things most of the time. your first line here made me chuckle, I’m the same. reading books in general feels like a chore to me, unless it is something really easy or it absolutely obsesses me and I feel like I have to finish it and learn what I can from it, which happens only rarely, but it has with religious/philosophical books like the Bhagavad Gita and the symposium. I continue on with most books I read though because that chore-ish feeling I get in the process is just how it is for me. I love fiction and find it beautiful. but the pleasure I get comes more from having read or thinking about it in retrospect, than from doing the reading itself. same for writing a story or an essay too. Try some historical fiction. Like a Bernard Cornwell book. His Sharpe series deals with British soldiers during the Napoleonic wars. The history is accurate to the place, results, date, and time. The books are hard to put down. He has other books in other time frames. After the Sharpe books, my favorites are about a warrior for Alfred The Great. If you just want a fun potboiler to try Ken Follett he wrote a few of those spy novels you can’t get into, but the guy is a first-class novelist. If you’re into anti-heroes, action, and history Look into Flashman by George MacDonald Fraser.
