During orientation week at LGBT Adidas Stranger Things Shirt university, we had a whole talk on being accepting of the LGBT+ community. Someone put up their hand and said that they weren't homophobic but confidently believed that God would never put someone in the wrong body and argued that transgender people are something discussed but aren't in fact present in everyday society. lady holding the talk calmly said, "Well I was born with a penis, and would you have known unless told you? Am I some mystical being? Do I appear not well adapted to society?" You could see this man with his hardcore outdated, conservative mentality had quite a shock to the system. When my wife (we were just dating then) came out to one of my relatives as bi, he took me aside and tried to convince me that this meant she was always going to be a cheater and that she’ll leave me for a man, citing his college psychology classes (from the 60s). Then, my aunt found her bag with acne medication and started to spread the rumor that she actually had chlamydia to my entire family. A “concerned” neighbor cornered my mom at a dinner party and began saying stuff like “80% of transgenders commit suicide” and “Johns Hopkins doesn’t do ‘The Operation’ anymore because so many of them kill themselves.” Never mind that this woman has never shown concern about me in any other context,
