I remember watching it with my friends Put On The Whole Armor Of God Eph 611 Prayer Unit Shirt and laughing at how poorly made it is. It was like a shitty fan film. I'm a really big fan of creepypastas and horror films and I was so disappointed at what they made. It could have been a really, really good film but instead, they somehow forgot how slender man works and gave it totally new abilities. The story behind it is a total clusterfuck, partially because mid-production there was that attempted murder in the name of Slenderman and they had to recut it ala plane films right after 9/11. If you look at the trailer, virtually every scene in it was cut from the final movie. Completely different film. It's crazy. The worst thing is how amazing it was supposed to be as a series, then the absolutely steaming pile of shit it turned out to be. Originally they were in talks with HBO to do something totally unheard of...start with a feature film for the first book, an HBO series for the 2nd, back to feature film for the 3rd, then a 2nd season of the TV show, and so on until the whole saga was told. I was fucking STOKED for that concept! I think they got too far into pre-production, had too many people back out, and couldn't bring the train back once it left the station and ended up settling with the crammed together mess we wound up with. I'm still holding out hope that one day, I'll get the detailed, drawn-out series of movies or shows that the books deserved.
