Depending on how popular a show or movie is they might prefer to keep it for future use or auction it off. Costumes and props used by lead actors can be very valuable. Zach Braff talked about the studio requiring a handler when he wanted to borrow Rowdy for something they couldn't afford to/wouldn't want to halt production if something happened to a costume, like a seam going during a stunt, not to mention just switching out for cleaning, so a production like Guardians might have maybe a half dozen of each costume, plus the versions for the stunt actors, and depending on things they might even have different versions for close-ups versus background shots (close-ups being more detailed while the background would be less detailed but also cheaper to make and maybe lighter or more maneuverable depending on the costume), but I'm will too bet he took one of the close-up costumes, and if Disney really cared they'd probably just bill him for it or take it out of his next paycheck. That said, I think a fair number of actors make it a part of their contracts that they can take some wardrobe home as part of their payment, although that's more common with the more casual/less iconic clothes (like sitcoms and romance movies)
